When you’re serving time in the jails in Persona 5 Strikers, you need to make the best use of bond skills to make your jailbreaks easier. Here’s a quick rundown of the best bond skills in Persona 5 Strikers.

First row: Stat boosts

In the early game, you’ll definitely take some punishment. It’s tempting to pick up these stat boosts, but I recommend saving your skill points. I was already close to level 80 with max stat personas when I had enough leftover points to start picking these up. They’re definitely not crucial.

If you’re really set on stat boosts, grab HP Boost, SP Boost, and Magic Boost. However, there’s no shortage of healing/recovery items in this game, and you shouldn’t have to rely on allies for triggering weaknesses.

Second row: Skill boosts and Recovery

Useful: Martial Arts, Spiritual Arts

I didn’t use Tactical Arts or Supportive Arts in my first playthrough. However, these are very useful for the higher difficulties, especially when you’re relying on technical damage. Buffs are useful, but it’s also easy to reapply them, especially once you get Heat Riser or the better chef items.

Oracle Recovery isn’t as good as in the mainline games, as you can simply leave the jail to heal. It also costs a lot of bond points.

You’re definitely going to get a lot of mileage out of Martial Arts and Spiritual Arts, so consider picking those up early.

As I said earlier, there’s no shortage of healing items, which is why I passed on Harisen Helper. I also rarely switch teammates, so Pass Appeal got passed up. Why would I switch teammates when I have a small army of personas with max stats?

Third row:

All of these are useful, but I personally held off on Avenger. Ambusher should definitely be prioritized. Spirit Striker is as good as it sounds, but it won’t be available until endgame, and it costs quite a lot to buy and upgrade.

Joker’s Wild and Phantom Striker are ok but won’t wow you. Ammo Hoarder came in handy for picking off mobs at a distance when dodging AOE spells, but isn’t required. Showtime attacks are useful, so Proper Showman is good, but realistically I only used showtime attacks 1-2 times per jail run, so I didn’t get a lot of use out of it.

Fourth row: Extra everything

No exceptions. These are all good, with the exception of Bondmaker, which should literally be the first skill you purchase. Believe me when I say that Bond levels increase at a glacial pace later on, so you need as much extra oomph as you can muster. Extortionist and Metaverse Medic are indispensable.

Fifth row:

You’ll eventually want Safecracker as it’s the only way to open certain chests. Treasure Hunter made it so that I was running into 2-3 treasure demons per dungeon run, though I’ve seen people claim to see as many as 6-7. Master Chef will eventually allow you to craft party buff items and efficient healing, so grab it when you can. I had grabbed Packrat because I thought I’d need to sell junk for cash, but treasure demons spawn frequently enough that you shouldn’t need this.

Give me the TL;DR

Max these ASAP: Bondmaker, Metaverse Medic, Extortionist, Ambusher, Spiritual Arts, Martial Arts, Master Chef, Treasure Hunter.

If you feel like you wasted points early on, don’t worry, you’ll eventually be able to buy everything. Fair warning: it does get grindy once your bond level gets higher. If you play New Game+ on Merciless, you’ll definitely max out your Bond level, but be prepared for the difficulty spike!
